AUTOMATED TRASH COLLECTION (once a week)

The 90-gallon wheeled container provided by the city is for automated collection of your regular household garbage. DO NOT USE IT FOR YARD TRIMMINGS OR HAZARDOUS WASTE. The container may be placed near the curb between 6:00 p.m. the day before and 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.

The regular collection day for Meadowcreek Village is
Monday*

Orient the container so the arrows on the lid point toward the street (the top handle/hinge should be toward your house). It must be accessible to the automated collection truck and not blocked by obstacles such as parked cars or low tree branches. Improperly placed containers will not be serviced.

Containers must be removed from the curb by 10:00 p.m. on the day of collection and stored in a secure location out of view from public streets or sidewalks. If you are going to be away from home, please arrange for someone to move your container. Allowing the container to remain in public view can result in a fine ranging from $50 to $2000 for each day of the offense.

TAKE CARE OF THE CONTAINER

The container is the property of the City of Houston, but you are required to care for it as if it were your own. Make a note of your container number. If your container is stolen, please call the City of Houston Police Department at (713) 884-3131. Stolen containers will be replaced free of charge once you obtain an HPD case number. Replacement of badly damaged containers can be obtained by calling the city help line at 3-1-1.

YARD TRIMMINGS (once a week)

There is a separate collection of yard waste weekly on the same day as your regular trash collection. This allows yard waste to be recycled, saving valuable space in landfills. Put grass clippings and leaves in bags not to exceed 50 lbs. each. Do not place anything but yard trimmings in these bags. Small limbs must be tied in bundles no more than eighteen (18) inches in diameter and four (4) feet in length. Place the bags and bundles at least 3 feet away from your trash container when you take them to the curb for scheduled weekly collection.

CURBSIDE RECYCLING (once every two weeks)

The city offers curbside recycling service for aluminum, plastic, paper, and other recyclable materials. Put these materials in the green recycling bin provided by the city and place it at the curb at least 3 feet from your trash container on the scheduled recycling day. Recycling days are listed in the neighborhood newsletter and on the community calendar posted on this web site.

HEAVY TRASH COLLECTION (once a month)

Place heavy trash at the curb no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the Friday before or later than 7:00 a.m. the day of scheduled pickup. Placing heavy trash at the curb too early can result in a fine ranging from $50 to $2000 for each day of the offense. This service is for large residential trash only. The city will not pick up large amounts of building debris or other commercial trash.

The heavy trash collection days for Meadowcreek Village are
