Except for the lots specifically set aside by the developer for other purposes, property within Meadowcreek Village is for residential use only. Commercial activity is prohibited.
Garage Sales and Yard Sales are regulated by the Office of the State Comptroller. Each household is allowed to have only two such sales within a twelve-month period, each lasting no more than three days. Any more than that and the household is recognized as a business and must obtain a sales tax permit from the state. Operating a retail business out of a home is commercial activity and a clear violation of neighborhood deed restrictions.
Visit the Deed Restrictions Enforcement page for instructions on how to report a deed restrictions violation to the Civic Club.
Documented sustained commercial activity at a neighborhood residence may also be reported to the City of Houston Legal Department, who may be able to help with enforcement.
